The location of Gibb's classroom scene was director Jason Paul Collum's actual Kindergarten room in 1978-79 at North Park School in Racine, Wisconsin, USA.
The lead character, Gibbs (portrayed by Michael Thomas Determan), is named after Andrew Gibbs, who was the cinematographer of the original 2017 film.
The idea to incorporate real insects and spiders occurred because the filming location is often known to host many of them during the summer months, being located on the shores of Lake Michigan.
The climactic rainstorm escape was filmed during an actual storm.
This feature marks writer/director Jason Paul Collum's 30th year as a filmmaker.
