Yayoi's father died when she was very young, and she has lived alone with her beloved mother, Akiko. Having been deprived of the happy life she dreamed of with her new family, Yayoi goes to the city and starts a part-time job as a scullery maid for a big company. She endures bullying from monster employees at the office, but with the support of Mikami, a kind security guard, and Sakurai, a security manager, she tries her best to get by. One day, Yayoi learns that according to the president's will, the winner of an in-house competition will become the next president of the company, and she decides to challenge the competition. However, due to a rival's plot, the winner is robbed, but President Inukai, who is supposed to be dead, appears and announces Yayoi as the real winner. Yayoi wins a large sum of money and heads for her parents' home to save her beloved mother.
