Beau stands on the ledge of a bridge ready to end it all. However, the only casualty ends up being his phone, which accidentally drops. He returns to his unfulfilling job at a gas station. His phone is returned to him by Cat, a curious nine-year-old boy with a fearless disposition despite his terminal illness. The two form an unlikely friendship and come to new revelations about maturity and purpose in order to reshape their perspectives on life. "The Fine Line" touches on themes of friendship and rediscovering meaning in life. Beau and Cat help us understand that adult sensibilities and childhood wonder can coexist within us.
