Bob Monkhouse in Wipeout (1994)

Trivia

Episode #6.64

Wipeout

As with many editions of the show, some of the contestants have a slightly different name listed to the one announced.

The opening voiceover by Tom Edwards introduces contestant Melanie Morris by her full first name, but the name plate on her panel and the name Bob uses is the shortened "Mel".
The grid subject of sitcoms set in London would be reused in Episode #9.23 (2001).

However, the later instance was as an Auction Grid, which meant it only had 12 options as opposed to the 16 in this edition. There were also some changes in the available options, with only the following appearing on both grids: Till Death Us Do Part (1965), Desmond's (1989), Two's Company (1975), Steptoe and Son (1962), Citizen Smith (1977), The Brittas Empire (1991) and Goodnight Sweetheart (1993).
The contestants are introduced in an unusual order on this edition: rather than left-to-right, centre player Melanie Morris is announced first, followed by the two men.
The grid subjects featured on this edition are:

Main Grids: Sitcoms set in London; European cheeses.

Auction Grids: Scottish words and meanings; Films that begin with the words "The Last"; Creatures beginning with the letter C.

Final Grid: Actors who have had a solo record in the UK Singles Chart.
The final grid on this edition - actors who have had hit records in the UK - originally appeared (as actors and actresses) in Episode #5.30 (1998), and as just actors in Episode #6.48 (1999).

The grid answer here of David Soul also appeared on the first appearance of the grid, while Richard Harris appeared on the second. Telly Savalas appeared on all three grids.
