Bob Monkhouse, Samantha Brand, Steven Brown, and David Furby in Wipeout (1994)

Trivia

Episode #6.56

Wipeout

The grid subjects featured on this edition are:

Main Grids: Films with the word "Great" in the title; Ingredients in Chinese medicine.

Auction Grids: Sting solo hits; Types of puppet.

Final Grid: Members of the crow family.
As is a fairly frequent occurrence, this edition sees two contestants introduced by their full names, but opting to use shortened versions of their name on their display podiums. Steven Brown and David Furby have their names written as "Steve" and "Dave" respectively.
A contestant is somewhat unlucky to get a Wipeout when choosing "The Great Pretender" as an answer on a grid about films with "Great" in the title. Although it wasn't a theatrical release, The Great Pretender (1991) did exist as a TV movie.
A grid on Chinese medicine sees Bob do some old gags about Chinese names (based around "Hey you" and "Who, me?") and put on a mock Chinese accent... somewhat antiquated material in 1999.
During a grid on puppets, Bob mentions the work of Leni Riefenstahl when dealing with shadow puppets on film. However, as a specific film isn't cited, this isn't included under Movie Connections.
