Secretary Karen André is on trial for the murder of her former employer and lover, business executive Bjorn Faulkner. On the night of January 16, while Faulkner faced bankruptcy after having defrauded his company of millions of dollars, he and André were in the penthouse of the Faulkner Building, New York. Faulkner then apparently fell to his death. In the trial, prosecutor Flint and defense attorney Stevens call witnesses. Their testimonies build rather conflicting stories. TV adaptation of Rand's 1934 Broadway success.
