Wipeout (1994)

Trivia

Episode #4.13

Wipeout

This edition didn't make the Top 70 Chart.
The grid subjects featured on this edition are:

Main Grids: Portmanteau words; Lyrics from "Summertime"; Female creatures.

Auction Grids: Commonwealth countries; Actors who played Doctor Who.

Final Grid: TV theme music written by Simon May.
The second Auction Grid on this edition - actors who played the lead role in Doctor Who - was reused as a final grid in Episode #6.48 (1999).

As an Auction Grid there was a requirement of eight correct answers, as opposed to the six needed for a main grid. As a result, not only was William Hartnell included, but Peter Cushing - who played the Doctor in two movies - was also added to make up the required number of answers.
The first Auction Grid - Commonwealth countries - would be one of the most enduring grids of the series, going on to be reused as Auction Grids in Episode #5.25 (1998), Episode #6.16 (1998) and Episode #6.51 (1999).

Due to the number of possible options, the answers were different on the other grids, though "Fiji" remained an answer on all four. The grid with the biggest similarities was Episode #5.25 (1998), with which this one shared five more answers: Hong Kong, Ireland, Jamaica, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
