Trivia

Episode #6.89

Wipeout

The grid subjects featured on this edition are:

Main Grids: Wild Cats; Crackerjack! presenters.

Auction Grids: Films featuring Marilyn Monroe; German wines.

Final Grid: British Dependencies.
The "studio audience" sounds in this edition have a couple of notable elements. As with all of the Bob Monkhouse Wipeout episodes, it was recorded with just Bob, the contestants, and the studio production crew, but laughter and applause were dubbed on afterwards.

There's a part where Bob makes a "pride" joke about lions that doesn't get a "laugh", not even a small chuckle, suggesting it was missed in the post-dubbing session. Yet more notable is Bob introducing a grid on the children's programme Crackerjack! (1955). As it was tradition for the audience to shout out the name of the programme after the title had been said, the sound of the "audience" yelling "Crackerjack!" can be heard.
During a grid on presenters of Crackerjack! (1955), Bob mentions that Jack Douglas appeared in "Carry On" films. However, as he doesn't specify a particular film, this isn't included under Movie Connections.
The second main grid on this edition - presenters of Crackerjack! (1955) - had previously appeared as a main grid in Episode #5.27 (1998).

10 of the 16 answers were the same on both grids: Eamonn Andrews, Michael Aspel, Ronnie Corbett, Leslie Crowther, Jack Douglas, Stu Francis, Peter Glaze, Derek Griffiths, Ed Stewart and Little and Large.
