Crystal Blue is an outpost on the planet Thera II. The Earth's Defense Force (EDF) sends military personnel to the Theras when they break rules or go against protocol. A kind of "time out" if you will. Being sent to the Theras isn't fun, but it beats a dishonorable discharge. In this inaugural episode, Stooge and Palmer find themselves sent to Crystal Blue where they will be forced to monitor space travel and help build Air Purifier Towers (APTs). It doesn't seem like the worse job in the galaxy, but it all depends how long you have to stay. Hopefully their terms are short.

After hearing of Stooge's fate, Carter has a talk with the Captain. But his concern doesn't last long when he finds out his own term is ending. Carter doesn't want to leave... not yet anyway. So in an effort to postpone it, he takes off on an ATG and doesn't come back for hours. Later, he tells Kay about his decision to stay which upsets her. Carter also sees a fiery object in the sky and forces Max to do a scan to find out exactly what it was.

Kay is still upset with Carter. While she patrols the outside of the base, she finds some commotion in the Comm Room. She goes to investigate and finds several CB members searching for a crashed shuttle. While they don't know exactly where it landed, they do know the general area. The Captain decides to send a search and rescue team. Kay decides she wants to go, much to Carter's dismay. But the shuttle landed in the jungle and the jungle can be a very dangerous place.

Sarko, Roman, and the rest of the build team are heading back to Crystal Blue after another week of work. When they arrive back at the base they find the Crawler gone and the bay door jammed. Sarko has a few words for the mechanics and the Captain, but Hiltz is having none of it. Later, Sarko meets Stooge and finds that Communications is having a hard time reaching the Block. Is their signal being jammed?

Max and Mazey are still hurriedly trying to figure out things in Communications, since the Captain urgently wants to talk to HQ and isn't letting up. Meanwhile, Carter and company head to the jungle but have an abrupt stop in the plains when they find a body.

Stooge's first day at the tower is not a good day. He's not prepared and it seems no one really cares to help him, save for Yara. Meanwhile, Max looks into the blip, while also fighting with Mazey. And Rich and Ferris get high and find a new pet.

Carter and company head into the jungle to locate the shuttle. Things aren't easy traversing over mushy ground, fighting insects, and hiding from Zinos. Miles away, in the APT, Stooge also struggles as he tries to find his place among the builders.

Carter and crew head back to Crystal Blue with two bodies, trying to figure out what actually happened, Ferris makes a deal with Worm to get food for his new pet, and Max can't get over the blip.

Ferris tries to stick up for Rich, but it ends up making things worse; Carter and company head back to the base, but stop to get some grass samples to help solve one of the biggest mysteries regarding the charred man; Sarko complains to the Captain about the way he's handling the downed shuttle; and Stooge keeps messing things up.
