    • Trivia
There's a contrived bit of fun on this edition when contestant Mavis Jackson tells Paul she's a terrible singer, but is encouraged to demonstrate her lack of talent.

After she launches into a rendition of "Build Me Up Buttercup", the picture cuts to a still shot of an empty studio where the audience should be. After Paul calls out that "Mave" has finished singing, footage of the audience getting back into their seats is shown.

For logistical reasons (as well as the fact that the audience can still be heard throughout), it's likely that the shots of the audience retaking their seats were shot before the main recording of the show began, and slotted in later, with Jackson already agreeing to sing as part of the show. Although Wipeout did use an actual studio audience during the Paul Daniels era, this is the first time they are shown onscreen.
    • Goofs
A grid on celebrities who didn't change their birth names when they became famous sees Eric Clapton appear as a "Wipeout", with the revelation that his real name was Eric Clapp.

However, this isn't actually true. Jack Clapp was the stepfather of Eric's mother, and the relative similarity of their last names caused this popular myth.
