All of the Bob Monkhouse Wipeout episodes were recorded without a studio audience for speed, and the sound of an audience (and, in later series, the sight of one) dubbed over afterwards.

While Bob does his best to help the illusion along, this edition starts with a particularly odd choice, where Bob motions out towards the "audience" and tells the three contestants: "That's not for me, that's for you. That's to make you feel welcome." As the contestants would have actually been standing there listening to complete silence, it would have been a strange experience for them to take part in.

Bob says on this edition that the Wipeout Auction Grids round is his favourite.

The second Auction Grid on wedding anniversaries had previously been seen in Episode #1.13 (1994). However, only three of the options were the same on both grids: wood, opal and pewter.

The final grid - fish that are flat - had previously appeared as an Auction Grid on Episode #4.4 (1995).

Eight of the answers were identical, which just four differences: Coley, Hake, Monkfish and Skate didn't appear on this version, and were replaced by Bleeny, Gar, Opah and Tarpon.
