This edition was recorded on 26th January 1998.
During a grid on golfing terms, Bob jokingly says that "stymie" was someone who had a magic wishbone, a remark that would have been lost on a lot of the audience, albeit not the canned laughter studio audience.
"Stymie and his Magic Wishbone" was a comic strip based on Matthew 'Stymie' Beard, even using his photograph for the mast header of the strip. The strip ran in the 1930s and 1940s in "Radio Fun" comic, and ended in "Jingles" in 1949, the best part of 50 years before this episode aired.
However, Stymie wasn't forgotten by Bob Monkhouse, as in March 2003 Bob presented a three-part Radio 4 series about Radio Fun that included the character.

There's a somewhat off-kilter sign off for Bob in this edition, as he tells viewers: "Who was it said errr, 'If pigs could fly, Scotland Yard would be the third London airport'? Not me. I... I didn't say it, I'm just repeating it. But it just wipes me out."
