The film was shot over the course of two days in the city of Larache. The director's wife and children, who are also the cast, serve as the central subjects of the film.
The first scene showing the character of the man in his chamber refer to Plato's allegory of the cave, inspired by the famous scene from The Conformist (1970).
The director Mohamed Amine Zeriouh insisted to shoot the film on Black/White and without dialogues. He considered that the most beautiful shots in film history were filmed in Black & White.
