When Yueniang spoke of Tao Jie to Zu Ye, she was referring to her majie (who has always known as Ah Tao) whom had always accompanied her back in Xiao niang re (2008) (played by Hui Ng in that drama series).
Bai Ah Li informed Xin Niang that he had heard Ah Zhu is in Siam, to Xin Niang's amazement. Siam is the old name for Thailand.
Huang Zu Ye is actually the biological son of Joanne Peh's character (who is Yu Zhu) in Xiao niang re (2008), making him the adopted son of Yueniang. Yu Zhu and Yueniang are cousins back in Xiao niang re (2008), thus running contrary to in Ep 6 (2025) to how Xiu Niang said that he is Yueniang's sister's son. Zu Ye was already first featured in Xiao niang re (2008), but by a child and elder version. Ze Tong Zhang's version shows him at 18, even though he is much older in real life.
Xin Niang reminded Bai Ah Li that Singapore is an autonomous country. Since the episode has shifted to the 1960s, this would have been around the time before or after it became part of Malaysia in 1963, or independent since 1965.
When Tyler Ten's Bai Ah Li told Xin Niang of how he had heard that Ah Zhu is in Siam (which is Thailand in the present time), he later went on speaking in a Thai accent and saying 'Sawasdee ka'. It may or may not also be a nod to back in All That Glitters (2023) in 2023, he played a Thai character Su Sa Kong.
