After the events of Xiao niang re (2008) (except for scenes shown in the modern times which back then would have been at the time of airing in 2008), Yueniang has become quite a successful businesswoman in her own right, having various businesses both in Malaysia and Singapore, according to Si Li. It came after her adult daughter An Na was curious about the arrival of their distant relative to the mansion.

Goofs
When preparing for the arrival of Yueniang, Xiu Niang had said that Yueniang's adopted son Zu Ye is originally her sister's. In actual fact, his biological mother is Joanne Peh's character (who is Yu Zhu) in Xiao niang re (2008). Back in Xiao niang re (2008), Yu Zhu and Yueniang are cousins.
