According to author Tracy Adkins' book "The Ghosts of Athens," room 119 at the Graduate Hotel was one of the most haunted locations in Athens, Georgia. Adkins was consulted by the producers of the film and gave her blessing prior to shooting. The name of the hotel was changed after the film's premiere screening.
During the 15 minutes it takes for Florence to get up the nerve to take a shower in the haunted bathroom, she says the word "shower" a total of 15 times (approximately once per minute).
