The trailer for this film shows sex traffickers laughing at what they get away with, then asks if think the government or law enforcement will ever stop them. It then says, "Dream On." That hits pretty hard, and is the theme of this powerful view of how crazy and damaged people involved in trafficking are. It shows their dream is a nightmare - for us.

I reviewed the original iteration of this film that came out in 2024 titled Not Taken Origins. That film is still running on Amazon Prime, but it's a more than X-rated movie as the nature of the subject is the same. This is an expanded version that somehow managed to be R-rated, and that was primarily due to language. Origins has been a film festival darling winning award after award, and I'm glad to see this next-generation version of it. It's slick, compelling, and brave. By showing the world through the eyes of the traffickers you learn why trafficking has become so pervasive. Nobody is really stopping them, and the people who do it have no respect for life. They are scary people and that is something I haven't seen shown in movies on the topic.

As with Origins, this is a movie that has traffickers talking about their life and world through a voiceover showing the events they are talking about. It's not a traditional biography or documentary in any way. It's a vision, a point of view from each of six traffickers featured. Each segment is as different as the trafficker speaking. It shows the world of trafficking as being where you don't know who a trafficker is, and that is the message.

I watch movies on this subject and think this one hits the hardest and is fearless in taking a look at the world through the eyes of the sick people taking children and ruining lives. It is a warning that traffickers don't care about how many lives they ruin, and it could happen to anyone's child. Like the trailer said, if you think that it can't happen to you or your child - dream on.

The thriller genre features suspense, tension, and excitement. These stories are known for keeping audiences on the edge of their seats and delivering intense emotional experiences by revolving around high-stakes situations, dangerous conflicts, and the constant anticipation of unexpected events.
