This is brilliant, it is an annual ghost story in the European tradition of telling creepy stories around Christmas. It's so disciplined and ambitious to put out one episode per season. And the first was great. The acting was absolutely spectacular, it is intentionally overwrought which also feels traditional. The story is tight and fits the old story style (Henry James, Algernon Blackwood, Dickens, etc.). It's so lovely to have this over the holidays, it feels like going back to a lost time. I highly recommend disregarding these low stars and checking it out, knowing the context it harkens to. Sadly those reviewers probably don't understand the project. Thank you to the makers, you've made the holidays greater!
