Everyone sees Haruki as a delinquent and a troublemaker, but he inadvertently shows a different side of himself to Minase.

Minase leaves his home to find a film "The Sound of Blue" and encounters Haruki on his way back leading to the two of them watching a film together.

Haruki begins to actively seek out Minase's companionship, by appearing when he least expects it, and usually asking to watch a movie with him. Minase is still less than enthused by their kiss.

After spending some more time together, Minase invites Haruki to his father's film premiere. Later on, the pair go on a school trip with their class.

After attending Minase's father's film screening, Minase and Haruki realize something about themselves.

Haruki invites Minase to go on a trip with him, to visit his mother and younger sister in their house by the sea.

Haruki gets suspended from school through no fault of his own. Minase attempts to reason with the teacher, to try and get Haruki back to school.

After Minase leaves to take his exam as per Haruki's request. Haruki has a realization that he can now take the opportunity to better himself, and turn his life around.

Minase attends Hirukawa's film screening but gets drunk and misses it. The next day, he returns to retrieve his forgotten ID pass and reunites with Hirukawa after five years.

Haruki rushes to Minase's aid, after hearing from a bar staff member that he has passed out, to ensure he gets home safely.
