Although the media, films, television series, and even some people with a higher level of education who are not from the field of psychology frequently repeat the term Stockholm Syndrome, it is important to know that the DSM, in none of its editions, has ever recognized this term.

Worse still, modern psychology regards it as a fraud. Born from sexism, a low level of knowledge about human behavior, and the concealment of relevant factors, the so called syndrome is in fact far more easily explained by the multiple factors that constitute a kidnapping situation.

In this film, we observe how this occurs. The police and security institutions, by inverting their mission, cause the victims to fear their actions more than those of the kidnappers, given that in such cases the lives of the hostages are treated as secondary to the capture or killing of the perpetrators.

The lack of concern for the lives of the hostages and the police treatment, more erratic and unpredictable than that of the kidnappers, then leads to greater fear of police actions than of those of the criminals.

This film clarifies the issue and dismantles the myth of the Syndrome, which psychology abandoned long ago but which continues to be perpetuated in society to this day.
