Trivia
Charlie Hunnam claimed that his partner declined to visit the set, and that she requested he not come home until he was completely disengaged from the role. Hunnam accordingly spent a week after filming wrapped getting the character of Ed Gein out of his system, ending the process with a visit to the real Ed Gein's grave site.

Goofs
Henry Gein died on May 16th, 1944. The average temperature in Waushara County that month was 60 degrees, with the lowest temperature being 49 degrees. It is impossible to have that much snow on the ground with it being that warm. Augusta had her stroke shortly after his death, so there is also no chance of there being snow on the ground when she suffered her stroke.
