The criteria was to use five distinct sound effects in the video, and incorporate the number 74 somewhere in the film. The title was aptly named "Game Noire 74", the number 74 appears in Quistis' projected math/essay question in the beginning and end of the film, Lara Croft mentions that Gordon beat the video-game Majora's Mask in only 74 hours, Attempt 74 appears on-screen when he plays The Impossible Game, and his final grade on the essay is 74%.
