Originally intended to be a spin-off based on the hit television series '24.' Though it never ended up that way, subtle similarities can still be seen in the final production. The original idea would have followed Bauer's nephew Josh, years after the events of Day 9, as he followed in his uncle's footsteps and joined CTU as a field agent.
