While some may dismiss the plot as fanciful, there are real life parallels. For example, in July 2025, a Tennessee woman was arrested after AI flagged her as a suspect in a North Dakota bank fraud case based on photographs. A detective reviewed the ID and felt she "appeared to match the suspect" and okayed the arrest. Despite claiming she had never even been to North Dakota, she was held without bail for about four months before being extradited to North Dakota, where she spent another six weeks before the charges were dropped after her attorney showed she was over a 1,000 miles away at the time of the incidents.

In a real-life big-rig chase, any police department with the resources of the LAPD would surely deploy commercial-truck-grade tire spikes in the path of the truck, thereby rendering it undriveable almost immediately.
