This first video version of "Arnold Layne" is a quirky, fun, creepy and humored experience that stays with you for a long time. In this early Pink Floyd moment, the then quartet strolls on a beach with a fifth figure, a mannequim of which they carry its parts everywhere in many unusual moments.

Then there's the creepy masks they wear, some walking choreographies, reversed shots, slightly morbid themes, and there's so much happening that it's impossible to pick one favorite moment, or one highly special sequence worthy of notice. And the song is kinda funny - a majority of what this important band has done over the decades were mostly associated with serious issues and serious notes.

It goes with a spectacular technique that goes in several directions, almost groundbreaking. Photography, editing, it's all brilliant, becoming a unique experience to the senses. Had it been shot in color it'd fit more with the ideas of pyschedelic rock and the 1960's culture; but on the other hand the black-and-white of it all looks dazzling. The second version also revolves on amusing bits, but we have two brief moments of Syd Barrett performing the song. It's a less chaotic clip to watch, but both experiences work. 8/10.
