Nicolas Cage in Spider-Noir (2026)

Trivia

Spider-Noir

After watching the full eight episodes for the first time, Nicolas Cage said it was one of the happiest and most fulfilling moments in his life, as the show combined his two passions - classic cinema and comics.
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were amazed by Nicolas Cage's ideas and passion for the Spider-Man Noir while working on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018). They originally thought of an animated spin-off focused on Noir, but they felt it would delay the Spider-Verse movies, for which they were already contracted. They then approached Cage with the idea of playing the character in a live-action movie. Sony disliked the idea, feeling it would clash with their MCU Spider-Man movies. It was decided to turn it into a limited series, which Cage was hesitant to accept until he read all the episodes, and was promised a decent budget and a fast, movie-like working schedule.
Since the beginning of his career, Nicolas Cage had a rule of never doing any TV series, as he was afraid of being stuck with the same character, same place, and same coworkers for a long time. After working on Spider-Noir out of love for the character, Cage said he enjoyed this new experience so much that he will focus more on similar shows than movies.
Nicolas Cage's Spider-Man Noir is set to appear again in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse (2027).
This is the first starring role in a TV series for Nicolas Cage.
