The brutality quotient, courtesy of the malevolent Corporal, tends to dominate and distract from the successful black humor and satire of The Regime this time.

The story does progress significantly, with the Corporal's insistence on land reform interrupted when crazy as a loon Kate suddenly reasserts herself and takes back from him the control of her country, by initiating a Putin-style invasion to annex the Faban Corridor next door.

The title banquet celebrating their bloodless victory comes with a droll Ricky Gervais level insult comic ragaling the crowd and even humiliating the Corporal with a mean-spirited limerick. His downfall comes about from his violent reaction, and I felt like it was good riddance, at least until the next plot twist will ensue.

A provocative segment, marred (intentionally) by the brutal, physical abuse dished out twice to Kate Winslet. I assume she digs these acting challenges, but it's unfair to the audience to indulgently put her through such obvious audience-baiting content.
