While the director was doing a photo shoot with Lucy (Harper) for the Due Facce scarf line, he stepped into Corks and Barrels, the same location featured in the film and had a brief interaction with Breanna (Luna). Weeks later the director brought Beth Deacon to meet her as a potential person to play Luna. She had zero experience in acting at the time. It was important to both the director and writer to provide opportunities to new faces. It was her confident personality that won them over.
