Well, I had actually never heard about this 2022 horror movie titled "Anacoreta", but had I known that it was a found-garbage style movie, I would never having given it a second glance. I abhor the found-garbage subgenre of horror movies, as they are 99% of the time not worth the effort given the lousy camera work and the lack of proper cinematography.

And to add insult to injury, then I also detest movies that are written by, directed by and starring the same person. Lo and behold, such was the case with "Anacoreta" as well, as Jeremy Schuetze occupied all these positions. So the movie was definitely not off to a great start.

Writers Jeremy Schuetze and Matt Visser, both of which starred in the movie and the former also directing the movie, put together a script and storyline that was boring and uneventful, so it fell short of entertaining me.

I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list, which was something that spoke in favor of the movie, as I do enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen. The acting performances in the movie were adequate, in all fairness.

Truth be told, "Anacoreta" was actually one of the more professionally-looking found-garbage type of movies that I have sat through. So at least it had the production value speaking in its favor.

The movie's cover was, for me, the best part about the ordeal.

This is hardly a movie that I would recommend, but then again I am not a fan of found-garbage movies. But if that is your particular go-to type of entertainment, by all means check it out. I am sure that diehard fans of the found-garbage genre of movies will enjoy this movie far more than I did. Nor is it a movie that I will ever return to watch a second time.
