- Kino Aguirre: Every seven years, there's a wave of disappearances somewhere in the world, and one's happening now.
- Álex: And what happens if we don't escape before eight?
- Kino Aguirre: We'll be locked up forever.
- [pauses, takes off his hat, rubs his face]
- Kino Aguirre: Maybe we're not ready for this.
- Alicia: I'm not leaving Lucas behind.
- [Extends her hand]
- Sergio: Neither am I.
- [Puts his hand on Alicia's]
- Álex: And there's no way I'm missing this.
- [Puts his hand on Sergio's]
- Alicia: You guys are here for Lucas, and for Gabi... and for the harvest of '66.
- Kino Aguirre: [Nods] Today is the day I stop running away.
- [Puts his hand on Álex's, everyone raises their hands]
- Álex: I'm an idiot.
- Kino Aguirre: It has to be something we don't know.
- Álex: No... I don't have any friends. Not even followers. And I act like a jerk... to justify why no one likes me.
- Kino Aguirre: Mine was the harvest of '66, and even though it's been a long time, I remember the feeling of being locked in the sack as if it were yesterday. The deep darkness, so deep it consumed your soul. But my father had gifted me a knife, and I always carried it with me, and it helped me get out of the sack. When I did, I found myself in some kind of cave. I tried to look for more children to help them escape, but I didn't see any, and I ended up getting lost. And suddenly, in front of me, a crack opened, a kind of mouth in the wall. And I went through it, and I started running. And I ran, ran, ran, ran, ran, without looking back... until I lost consciousness. When they found me the next morning, I wasn't sure what had happened, but I was holding this in my hand:
- [reveals a dirty jar with a piece of cloth inside]
- Kino Aguirre: A piece of the sack I had ripped during my escape. Without realizing it, I'd been holding onto it the whole time. The portal had recognized it and let me out. This was the key that helped me escape.
- Álex: Damn.
- Alicia: Is it moving?
- Kino Aguirre: [the piece of sack moves and growls, trying to reach the children; the children back away] It's reacting to the guilt you carry inside. It wants that.
- Paula: But why did they take him? He wasn't a bad boy.
- Kino Aguirre: It has nothing to do with evil. It has to do with guilt.
- Paula: What do you mean?
- Kino Aguirre: Yes, the Bogeyman feeds on it. He catches children and takes them to his lair, to his world, where he feeds on the guilt children have inside, for seven years, until he's devoured it all and has to come out for more.
- Kino Aguirre: [Showing newspaper cuttings] What do you see?
- Álex: [holding an old banana peel] I see you should hire someone to clean.
- Kino Aguirre: Look closely, damn it.
- Alicia: June 28th... June 28th. The dates... they keep repeating.
- Kino Aguirre: That's right. In all the waves, the first disappearance occurred on June 28th, and it all started here, in Gádor, on June 28th, 1910...

- Kino Aguirre: With this guy.
- [Flashback]
- Kino Aguirre: His name was Francisco Leona, and he was an old healer expert in the dark arts. He had a problem: He was dying of tuberculosis. Any mortal would have had no choice but to resign himself to his fate, but not him, because he knew how to change it. He knew a ritual capable of conquering any disease. But, hear this! For that ritual, he needed something very special. The blood of a child. And so, on June 28th, 1910...
- [flashback to how Leona kidnaps Bernardo]
- Kino Aguirre: Two months later, Leona was captured, tried, and sentenced to garrote vil. His last words before dying were: I'll return.
- Francisco Leona: [In flashback] I'll return.
- Kino Aguirre: I'll come back for your children...
- Kino and Leona at once: Again and again.
- Kino Aguirre: Leona was executed on September 1, 1910, at 8:00 p.m. Leona's threat resonated deeply in our village. So much so that many parents began using it on their children to stop them from misbehaving. What they couldn't imagine is that this threat would extend far beyond the boundaries of this village and eventually become reality. Now look here. These are the latest disappearances recorded in each wave.
- Álex: September 1st... September 1st... September 1st!
- Sergio: But that's tomorrow.
- Kino Aguirre: That's right. Tomorrow, at 8:00 p.m., the Bogeyman will disappear for 7 years, and all the victims will be lost forever.
