"Los hijos de la costa" (Children of the Coast) was awarded the Jose Rivorosa Prize for Best Mexican Documentary 2024 from the Filmoteca UNAM (Film Library from National Autonomous University of Mexico): "For its dignified, sensitive, honest, and festive portrayal of the Afro-descendant communities of Mexico's Costa Chica region." The decision was unanimous.
