Ken Docherty, aka Kendo, pontificates repetitively in the BTS short subject of this daring! DVD on how his unique style will save this MILF show from being just another (yawn!) title in an over-crowded porn genre. He's dead wrong, as nearly a decade later it stacks up as way below par for these popular peeks at mature beauties.

For one thing, he doesn't even know the basics of what he's doing: a MILF by definition has to do with an implied age difference, namely young boys with older women. Just being older than your average porn lady doesn't make the sex scene a MILF scene, if the guy is also an older dude. And it wouldn't hurt to develop a minimal story line (Kendo favors Silent Era footage with pantomime non-acting) that suggests the lady is a mother -perhaps a milk bottle lying around symbolically?

So we get a tired-blood series of five vignettes, all but the last featuring attractive but not all that distinctive Eastern Euro talent. The would-be "saver" is a final scene featuring Kendo's home-grown countrymen Tanya Tate and Clarke Kent, both of whom I've seen do better work a 100 times before (conservatively estimating).

Kendo loves to pat himself on the back for his "stylization", by which he mainly means splintered editing. In "Beautiful Milf" this serves to distance the masturbatory viewer, an unwise move, and he rather stupidly (as usual) insists on bringing in shots from other scenes into each current one, even though each is a stand-alone vignette. This supposedly knits the whole together, but merely is confusing, as when James Brossman's image sneaks into a humping scene where he is not present at all -I kept thinking he was a voyeur, rather than merely a figment of the editor's imagination. Also, this repeated footage is a turn-off, reminding me unpleasantly of the cheapo use of repeated footage (sometimes looped within a feature) that was common practice back in the theatrical and early VHS/Beta days of Adult Cinema.

Besides staring at Tate, I always like seeing greats Monica Bellucci and Mandy Bright in action, here paired in Sapphic lovemaking that expands to a threesome when an anonymous cock-wielder shows up on set. Images are poorly cropped as usual, as if Mr. K were auditioning to shoot a porn version of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow", and his idea of variety is to toss in a cream pie and a d.p. BFD.
