Only for Mithunda and Varsha Usgaonkar fans

Ghar Jamai review :

A decent one time watchable family entertainer, Ghar Jamai had Mithun Chakraborty teaming up with Marathi star Varsha Usgaonkar. They worked together in FC Mehra's Shikari (1991) and Raj (Daddu) Sippy's Pardesi (1993) as well - both box office flops. Ghar Jamai turned out to be an average grosser at the box office.

Mithunda played house husband to the beautiful Varsha Usgaonkar and had to face the ire of her mother Rita Bhaduri and scheming manager Anjann Shrivastava. There was Shakti Kapoor playing the villain while Prem Chopra - Kader Khan provided the comic relief as sasur- damaad jodi.

I had seen the film in its first week at Dadar's Kohinoor cinema only for Varsha Usgaonkar who is not only a Goan like me but also my childhood crush. Somehow, she made a good pairing with Mithunda though the films they did together didnt quite work.

After ages, I caught Ghar Jamai again on Zee5. The film will still appeal to Mithunda and Varsha fans.
