Famed cinema verite filmmaker D. A. Pennebaker fits his daughter Stacy with a balloon and turns her loose on Central Park Zoo culminating with a dizzying ride on the merry go-round.. While it enjoys a sharp touch or two it remains a basic dad with the wind-up keystone 8 at the zoo on Sunday, proud pop, Pennebaker lightyears away from capturing Hendrix at Monterrey and Dylan in rare private moments more than satisfied with his results. Stacy is energetic and pure expression and the animals sharply focused as she glides helter skelter about the Central Park environs in a film that serves as an interesting time capsule of a day at the zoo, 1954.
