The Grim Sleeper

The movie is based on the real case of "The Grim Sleeper," who is suspected in at least 10 deaths, one attempted murder and six others between 1985 and 2007 (with a 14-year gap in between. In July 2010, Lonnie Davis Franklin, Jr., was arrested and charged with 10 counts of murder and one of attempted murder. He has not been charged, as of August 2014, with six other murders police believe he might have committed during his suspected 14-year hiatus.

While dozens of women were believed killed in the 1980s in southern Los Angeles, the Grim Sleeper has only been charged or suspected in ten of the killings.
