Sit back and relax watching Puri Jagannadh's one of the most weakest works

Baachi / Bachi (2000) a movie which possibly came and went without much trace back in the day, is one of the least talked about directorial ventures of Puri Jagannadh.

It was his very 2nd directorial venture which released after the super successful, Pawan Kalyan-starring Badri which was released in the same year (2000).

I haven't seen all of Puri Jagannadh's works but yup I'm someone who has consistently seen his works from his debut Badri (2000) to Sivamani (2003), now adding Bachi (2000) also to that list which was his work from that time period.

Seems like Bachi is a typical Jagapathi Babu movie where him despite being the central character of the story, seems to be pulled in all directions by all the other characters and situations in the movie. A typical go-to bakra (scapegoat) character.

Bachi works to some extent if we keep aside the logic and stuff. Logically it's pretty weak. Many things go for a toss. But it's not a full-comedy mogie that logic should go for a toss completely.

Songs are completely forgettable. Background music is okay to some extent. Lead actress, Neelambari, who happens to be a debutant, was decent in both glamour and acting department. Her dubbing was good. Read on an idlebrain news article that she herself dubbed her own dialogues and the voice was refreshing too.

Bachi is definitely not Puri Jagannadh's weakest works in today's time but if we consider until the release of the 2004 release Andhrawala (haven't watched the movie yet but read years ago that it was the disaster of disasters), it surely was his weakest work. Which is why it sunk deep and became a forgettable venture. Otherwise a decent enough comic caper which one can just sit back and watch without requiring to think much.
