Making Baila! was a great experience for me. I was sitting down prepared to fast forward through the DVD and watch the fun parts of the show but I sat for the entire time with the remote in hand, never scanning ahead. David Longoria, the lead performer in both the documentary and TV special is simply an amazing performer. He is clearly one of the best and captivating trumpet players in the world of pop jazz music. He sings and works the audience with the best of them. There are songs- and I felt that song after song every one stood out and catchy and meaningful enough to stick around. The guests are really well selected. Latina Jimena is beautiful and talented and a great match for David in his song Tugga War. The dancing is elegant and I was especially fond of the salsa/tango combination. My boyfriend watched the DVD the following night at my suggestion and he admitted his favorites were the beautiful belly dancers. Overall the music is wonderful and the DVD is a visual art piece especially if, like me, you love concerts and enjoying talents at their best. I thoroughly enjoyed the DVD and have watched it a few more times since the first screening.
