My husband and I have recently been on an Agatha Christie movie marathon. We added this one to our watchlist, thinking from the trailer it would be a goofy, fun and foreign take on "Appointment With Death".

Boy were we wrong; in the best way possible.

We didn't really enjoy the '88 version of this story (every character was hard to tell apart and the reveal just lacked punch-no shade to Peter Ustinov). But *this* version had atmosphere, humor, suspense, and one of my new favorite Poirots (eccentric but dignified and compassionate). A surprisingly well-put together movie, would definitely watch again!
