Mr. Yunioshi: An Asian Perspective provides some insightful commentary of how far we've come concerning Asian characterizations in Hollywood movies from that unfortunate time

Those comments are insightful about the whys of certain things as well as some historical perspective like during the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II.
