Prior to the show's premiere, it was rumored that it is an adaptation of The Renovators (2011), a similar Australian format. However, Shine Iberia and Endemol themselves have revealed that it is actually an original format, which is also said in the show's end credits. This is in contrast to many successful Spanish reality shows, which are usually adaptations of formats from other countries.
