Salem's Lot

As Ben drives through the town during and just after the opening credits, he drives by the town mechanic's shop, where there is a red 1958 Plymouth Fury being worked on, the same car from "Christine."

When Ben is reading old newspapers on microfilm in the library, a headline reads "Local Couple Victims of DUI". The paper was supposedly printed in 1956, at a time when the term "DUI" was not yet in use.

In Chris Alexander's audio commentary for the theatrical cut of Salem's Lot (1979) (produced as a television miniseries, but released theatrically in Europe in a shortened version with more violence that also appeared on VHS in the United States), Alexander states that he saw the first cut of Salem's Lot (2024), and it was 3 hours long. After its release was delayed, the film was trimmed down to 114 minutes. Alexander also said that the structure of the Salem's Lot (2024) theatrical cut closely resembled that of the theatrical cut of the 1979 miniseries.
