Et in Arcadia Ego, Part 1

Writer and producer Michael Chabon confirmed that the name of the synth homeworld, Coppelius, is a reference to the 1817 short story The Sandman, by E.T.A. Hoffmann. In the story a doctor named Coppelius builds a mechanical girl so lifelike that a young man falls in love with her. The short story is the basis for the ballet Coppélia, and similar to the Greek legend of Pygmalion, which itself is the basis for the George Bernard Shaw play and its musical adaptation My Fair Lady.

It is said that Narek was able to follow La Sirena by extrapolating from their last known trajectory. La Sirena's last known trajectory before Narek lost them was heading to Nepenthe, not the Borg transwarp conduit. After Nepenthe, La Sirena headed to Deep Space 12 before rerouting to the conduit. There would be no way for Narek to have extrapolated a heading to the transwarp conduit when La Sirena changed headings multiple times to get there, and didn't even know that was where they were going until well after they'd lost Narek's ship.
