In Toledo, King Franz Hobling and Queen Ida Norden are rousing the people to war in the palace garden. Thea Rosenquist takes it into her head to go see the King, despite the site being forbidden to Jews. Her father and sister follow her, because they can't dissuade her. She goes to the King, wraps her arms around a leg, and so charms Hobling that he takes a fancy to her. This causes a crisis.

The copy I looked at was in poor shape, and at 50 minutes may be edited down from its original length. I found fraulein Rosenquist to be a spoiled nitwit, and so must wonder what sort of rearing by father Theodore Weiss she has received. He looks to be made up to play Shylock. It's clear that this movie is filled with good intentions about toleration, but the stagy acting by all hands -- their theatrical credits are offered in the cast list -- makes everyone look insane.
