Let's start with the positives. First, I really liked the animation style-it has that classic, old-school 2D look reminiscent of the 1960s through the 1990s, though it feels most at home in the '70s and '80s. Second, the theme is quite original. We follow two jungle tribes, each summoning a strange wooden giant-somewhat like Pacific Rim, but smaller and far less technologically advanced-to fight on their behalf. Third, the ending is somewhat predictable, but still enjoyable.

As for what could have been better, the short at times feels more like a trailer for a longer animation-though that doesn't seem to be the case. It works as a standalone story, but it strongly gives off "trailer vibes." It also plays out somewhat like a music video. I don't mind that format, but here it feels a bit confusing, especially since the score isn't particularly distinctive-fitting for the short, perhaps, but not especially memorable.
