Hurricane Isabelle hit Middlesex Virginia two days after shooting, leaving the cast and crew with no power or running water for three weeks. During that time most of the exteriors were shot during the day in close-ups to avoid seeing the damage from the hurricane. At night the cast would rehearse under candle light. The camera batteries were charged through a car lighter converter. The original actress to play Paige was replaced a week before filming with the Director's sister, Alexis Katherine.
