The origional director of this was H.S.Rawail (mere mehboob, laila majnu) who completed nearly the whole film, then he quited . The remaining film was completed by Tony Juneja. Joy Mukherjee's son and Mala Sinha daughter were introduced in this film. So this is the last project of filmaker H.S.RawaIl.
Remake of the film Heer Ranjha. Anil Kapoor and Sri Devi also starred in a remake of Heer Ranjha in the same year.

Boy Mukherjee voice was dubbed after he had problems with the producers. Boy only dubbed for the second half of the film. The producers were in a rush to release the film before Heer Ranjha. This was due to both having the same stories. In the the rush to show distributors their incomplete film , they had Boy''s voice dubbed (as they claimed) . The producers claimed Boy was busy with other films and did not have time for dubbing. But word on the situation was they were very unhappy with his voice. Upon hearing about this situation ,Boy's father Joy Mukherjee went to complain to the Cine Artiste board that was headed by Amjad Khan.
Ishq Khuda Hain had the same story line.
