The manager of a post office discovers upon arrival for his shift that 70,000 marks have been stolen from the safe. The young clerk, Lisa Murnau, is critically injured, and Harry Wolter, an acquaintance of hers, is knocked unconscious. Since no signs of forced entry were found, the perpetrator is suspected to be someone close to Lisa Murnau. The circle of suspects is not small, as Lisa has several admirers since her divorce, all of whom are potential suspects.
