Girogio Bianchi spends Christmas eve far from his lands of rock and snow. He is lonely. But in this desolate part of Sardinia, Christmas Eve is a time for welcoming travelers. He finds welcome in the home of Bonaventura Banez. There he and Ibanez' daughter, Carmen Boni, spend a night of love. Promising to return, he sets off to his estate. On the way back, he is caught in an avalanche. When he wakes, he is in the home of Ruth Weyher, and in her sexual thrall.

It's a story of the ways of the Sardinians, with their odd costumes and primitive ways, from a popular play, and it certainly offers a glimpse into a society that modern people will find peculiar. Under the direction of Aldo de Benedetti, there's a lot of repressed acting, which occasionally boils over into a smug smile from Miss Weyher, or anger from the other performers.,
