This movie received some controversy when it came out, due to the fact that it's PG-rated, when it contains a few obscenities (one "b--e me") and a graphic description of what Steve's mom would have done to him if he had gotten disrespectful to her and said that. PG movies in the 80s were common for this (but even this was extreme by those standards), and even a little into the early 90s, before it became a family rating for good in 1995.
