When Matt examines himself in the mirror, and in the brief side-glimpse we catch of his face while he does it, the cut is over his left eye. When his wife treats it in the next scene, though, it's over the right, and when he wears a bandage the next day it's almost in the middle of his forehead though slightly to the left.
